First Major Screen Credit: San (1966) Biography Yugoslavian director, screenwriter, and journalist Purisa Djordjevic has won several international awards for his work, which is often categorized as part of the "Belgrade School" of filmmaking. Djordjevic entered the film industry in the 1950s after studying art history and working as a journalist for the Belgrade daily Politika. After making several documentary shorts, Djordjevic co-wrote the feature film Opstinsko Dete/A Child of the Community (1953). His first solo effort was Dva Zrna Grozdja/Two Grapes (1955).         A young woman is saved by a resistance member when she wanders into enemy territory and into a Nazi encampment in this tragic World War II drama. The woman accidently enters the zone when she looks for her family members who have been killed by the Germans. The man and woman try to avoid death by returning to the hideout of the heroic resistance fighters.
