Synopsis
It’s the night of Christmas Eve and a young man is alone in his underground flat. He feeds his goldfish, eats ramen and watches television when all of a sudden, a blackout occurs. Although the house on top of his flat and the entire world have light, the young man spends Christmas Eve alone in the darkness.
Purpose of Production
The movie expresses the reality of Korean society through the juxtaposition of the underground and the aboveground, the world of light and the world of darkness, showing the psychology of man within that reality. Because the work is a monodrama with limitations of time and space, instead of relying on the dramatic element, the film creates visual impact through the darkness of the underground flat.
